Introduction

About St. Anselm's

A legacy of learning since 1904

St. Anselm's School, Ajmer was founded by the French Capuchin missionaries in 1904. Concerned about the education of young boys, the Rev. Fortunatus Henri Camaunt, the Prefect Apostolic, decided to begin St. Anselm's as a boarding school; it later became a day school. Today, St. Anselm's Senior Secondary School is an unaided Christian Minority Institution run by the Ajmer Diocesan Clergy.

The school has obtained its Minority Certificate from the Government. The Roman Catholic Diocesan Education Society runs a chain of schools across Rajasthan, mainly dedicated to the care of St. Anselm or St. Paul. St. Anselm's Ajmer is the mother institution of all Catholic schools in Rajasthan.

Management

The school is managed by the Roman Catholic Diocesan Education Society of Ajmer, registered under the Rajasthan Registration Act, 1958, registration number 37/85-86.

English is the medium of instruction.

Type of School

St. Anselm's is an efficient, unaided Christian Minority School and a co-educational English-medium school.

Studies

The scholastic year runs from April to March. The school prepares students for the All India Secondary and Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and welcomes students of all communities while respecting their religious beliefs.

Senior Secondary subjects include Moral Science, English, Hindi, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Political Science, Business Studies, Accountancy, Computer Science, Informatics Practices, and Sociology.

As education is a gradual and graded process, a strong and correct foundation is essential for future success. The school caters to children aged three-and-a-half years and above, providing education for their moral, intellectual, social, and physical development.

Educational Aim of the School

The aim of the school is to give children a sound intellectual and moral education so that they become good and upright citizens for time and eternity—developing their faculties and talents in proportion to their importance, with special emphasis on character building.

The Traditions

At St. Anselm's, we take pride in traditions that encourage students to:

  • Be friendly with one another in and out of school.
  • Avoid vulgarity in talk and behaviour.
  • Accept assigned work as their rightful share.
  • Show due respect when a Father, Sister, teacher, or visitor enters a room.
  • Be courteous and sportsmanlike with opposing teams and officials.
  • Respect the library and the rights of other students using it.
  • Respect the beauty of the school premises and report any observed damage.
  • Keep the premises clean by avoiding litter and picking up waste paper.
  • Learn and observe good manners at table and elsewhere.

These traditions may be little things in themselves, but they carry great value. When observed genuinely from within, they help form character.
