Leave of Absence

Attendance Matters

Plan ahead. Communicate clearly.

Regular attendance is essential to school life. Please follow the process below whenever a student must be absent.

1

Apply in writing

Leave requires a prior written application from a parent or guardian, addressed through the Principal. Leave is not granted over the telephone.

2

Record every absence

Each absence must be briefly entered in the Leave and Absence Record and signed by the parent or guardian and class teacher.

3

Medical leave

Students absent due to sickness must submit a medical certificate before rejoining. A doctor's certificate is also required after infectious or contagious illness.

4

Keep attendance regular

Half-day leave is not allowed. Leaves should not exceed 15 days in a year, and unexplained absence for more than 10 consecutive days may lead to removal from the rolls.

Attendance is compulsory on National Celebration days, including 15 August and 26 January, and on the school reopening day after vacation.
